Vince Dooley and Wally Butts have been the famous coaches for Georgia Bulldogs.
Vince Dooley was head coach at UGA from 1964 to 1988 with 201 wins on record. Dooley graduated from Auburn University where he was coached by Ralph "Shug" Jordan and later coached with him.
Coach Wally Butts took over coaching in 1939 and was head coach until 1960.During his period he led the team to four SEC championships as well as eight bowl games. Coach Butts was elected president of the American Football Coaches Association in 1959. Coach Butts retired with a record of 140 wins, 86 losses and 9 ties.
Herschel Walker and Frank Sinkwich are the famous players for Georgia Bulldogs.
Herschel Walker played running back for UGA and won the Heisman trophy in 1982. In 1976 Walker helped to lead the team to victory in SEC championship. Walker later went on to play for the NFL Dallas Cowboys as well as the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.
Frank Sinkwich was a Heisman Trophy winner in 1942 and helped UGA win the SEC Championship and the Rose Bowl. Sinkwich also went on to play for NFL Detroit Lions from 1943 to 1944.
